GOD WANTS YOU TO KNOW
The God of the Bible wants you to know that He loves you and that He has a purpose for your life. God’s purpose begins when you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. The Bible refers to this experience as being "born again."

Many people feel that you cannot know that you have God’s gift of eternal life. But the Bible clearly teaches in 1 John 5:13 that we can know that we have eternal life.

Before a person becomes a Christian he must know and realize several spiritual truths. I would like to share these truths at this time.

GOD WANTS YOU TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE A SINNER
The Fact
The fact that we are sinners is revealed to us in two scripture verses.

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one." Romans 3:10

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

Notice that every single one of us has this same problem. It is a sin problem.

The Consequences
Because we have all sinned against God, there are consequences for those sins.

"But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear" Isaiah 59:2

"The soul that sinneth, it shall die" Ezekiel 18:4

"For the wages of sin is death". Romans 6:23a

"But the fearful, and unbelieving...shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death" Revelation 21:8

The consequences of our sins are separation from God, physical death, and spiritual death.

GOD WANTS YOU TO KNOW THAT YOU MAY BE SAVED
The word Gospel means good news. The good news of the Bible is that God wants to save us from our sins. Jesus provided the way for us to be saved. The only way to be saved is through Jesus Christ.

Christ Died for Your Sins
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16

"But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8

"Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures" 1 Corinthians 15:3

Jesus is God come in the flesh. He is 100% God and 100% man. He never sinned. He died on the cross for every sin that has ever been committed. He paid sin’s debt on the cross. He died, was buried, and after three days rose again. Jesus is alive today wanting to save you from your sins and to give you the gift of eternal life.

Repentance and Faith Are Needed
To receive God’s gift of eternal life, a person must repent of his or her sins and place his or her faith in Jesus.

"I kept back nothing that was profitable...Testifying...repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ" Acts 20:20-21

"I tell you, Nay: but, except you repent, ye shall all likewise perish" Luke 13:3

"Without faith it is impossible to please (God)" Hebrews 11:6

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name" John 1:12

"He that believeth on Him is not condemned" John 3:18a

Repentance is turning from sin and turning toward God. Faith is placing our trust in Jesus to save our souls from sin. To be saved a person must realize that he is lost and that he cannot save himself. Only Jesus can save him.

If you realize that you are lost and that if you died right now that you would not go to heaven, would you simply bow your head and ask Jesus to save your soul, to forgive your sins, and to come into your heart as Lord of your life.

If you mean this prayer,
Jesus will give you the gift of eternal life and come into your heart.

ONCE A PERSON RECEIVES JESUS, HE SHOULD SERVE HIM.
"If ye love me, keep my commandments" John 14:15
