Mid-America is pleased to share an episode of the Kirby Woods Podcast in which Mid-America alumnus Jared Kress, Senior Pastor of Kirby Woods Baptist Church, Memphis, interviews his former professor, Dr. Matt Akers. Dr. Akers wears many hats at Mid-America, including Associate Dean of Doctoral Programs; Chairman of the Old Testament Department; Associate Professor of New Testament and Greek, Old Testament and Hebrew, Missions, and Biblical Counseling; and Director of the Hispanic Institute. Dr. Akers is so gifted and has such a diverse ministry that Pastor Kress refers to him during the podcast as a “Renaissance Man,” a remarkable man of God who is a professor, pastor, translator, and author.
