Core Values
Our story begins like yours, with a call from God to make a difference. We believe the Bible is inerrant and desire for students’ lives to be built on that truth. We believe in personal evangelism and want each student to practice it. We believe in the role of missions and encourage students’ calls to serve. Since 1972, Mid-America has effectively trained the men and women who answer God’s call to light the way.
Though we are known for our academic excellence, the ultimate value of any seminary education is how well it prepares its students to enter diverse fields of ministry. Mid-America equips our students to walk with Jesus and serve Him wherever they go. We provide them with the tools and training so that they’re able to finish the race, not just start it. We ignite our students’ dreams and light the way to what God wants to do in and through them. It’s no wonder more than 90 percent of our graduates are still active in ministry, lighting the way around the globe.
When you graduate from Mid-America, you enter into a vast network of alumni who are willing to help you start in ministry. Our graduates serve as SBC State Convention directors and leaders, pastors of established churches and church plants, local and international missionaries, worship leaders, and on boards of non-profits. You’ll be part of the Mid-America family. Helping you fulfill your mission is our mission. Because anyone bold enough to answer God’s call deserves training that will make a difference and teach them to exalt Christ. Come join the Mid-America family and discover how God will use your time here to equip you for a lifetime of ministry.
Our Core Values
It is our solemn responsibility to graduate leaders who can communicate biblical truth with conviction and use it to light the way through the darkness.
We want people to grow in grace and the knowledge of Jesus Christ. So we meet them where they are, and help them grow to maturity from there.
Our Alma Mater says, “To all the world for Jesus’ sake.” We encourage our students to boldly follow God wherever He sends them.
Mid-America is a place to belong. We’re a community where grace and truth live together; a place where each student desires God’s best for themselves and others.
The church of tomorrow will have leaders—but what kind? It is our responsibility to graduate those who influence through Scripture and submit to the authority of Christ.
Our motivation for evangelism is love for the lost (2 Corinthians 5:14), and our conviction about evangelism is the command of Christ (Matthew 28:18–20).
We minister within the communities in which we live and shine the light of Christ through Christian service. As doors of opportunities open, we make disciples of those we serve.
