You have joined a global community of men and women who seek to honor Jesus Christ and make His name known throughout the Earth. As a new student, you want to build the right momentum towards the ministry God has in store for you. On this page, you will find a list of the most frequently asked questions and answers. Frequently Asked Questions
Your student ID card will provide access to different areas around campus. Your Student ID number is printed on your card and will be important when registering for class, reporting Witness One:Seven activity (practical missions), logging in to your student email, and many other activities.
You may register for classes via Sonis. This is also the same portal by which you can check grades and absences, update your student information, and use the student directory. To log in to Sonis you will use your Student ID and PIN number given to you at registration.
Your student email is created for you at the time of your registration. This will be the primary mode of communication between Mid-America faculty/staff and students.
You will use your Student ID and PIN number (provided to you at the time of registration) to login. If you have forgotten your email address login information, contact Student Life.
Your email address is as follows:
[StudentID]@mabts.edu (e.g., MA1234567@mabts.edu)
Your password is your Mid-America-assigned PIN.
Reporting your Practical Missions program activities is required for all students. You will need your Student ID as a username and your Student PIN number as a password, both of which are provided to you at the time of registration.
Mid-America has many scholarships available and is dedicated to making your education a reality and helping you graduate debt-free whenever possible. Information about our scholarships is located on our Financial Aid page. Additionally, while we do not take Federal Student Loans, we have partnered with Nelnet (see below) as another way for students to locate financial assistance.
Nelnet
When you register online, you can make payment in full at the time of registration, or you may set up monthly payments through Nelnet. Mid-America has partnered with Nelnet, which offers loans to students. This service allows you to conveniently set up an account, get approved for a student loan, and begin making manageable monthly payments. For more information, please contact the Registrar’s office.
Mid-America Student Housing (MASH) is within walking distance of the Seminary. If you wish to live in student housing, please apply. If you’d like a list of alternative housing options, please contact Student Life.
Mid-America is frequently contacted about ministry and non-ministry job opportunities. Additionally, our Career Center offers students assistance in preparing for job opportunities.Visit our Career Center page for more information.
Memphis is home to many solid, biblical churches, not a few of which are pastored by Mid-America alumni. The Student Life office will gladly assist you in prayerfully finding a church home for you and your family. You may also explore Southern Baptist Churches through the SBC Churches Online Directory.
You’re sure to meet wonderful forever friends as part of the Mid-America community. Beyond the classroom, you’ll have ample opportunities to meet friends at a variety of Student Life events held throughout the school year. Your Practical Missions activities will also help you connect with fellow believers as well as classmates. Also, Memphis itself, with abundant churches and a vibrant Christian community as well as diverse activities and interest groups, provides a wide open opportunity for you to network and make new friends.
